Morris County Freeholders to Meet on Monday Next Week -- Veterans Medals Ceremony Set for 7 p.m.

The Morris County Board of Freeholders has switched their meeting night this week to Monday, instead of the regular Wednesday session, due to the Veterans Day government holiday on Wednesday.

The board’s work session will start at 5:30 p.m. and the regular meeting – open for public comment – is set to start at 7:30 p.m.

The freeholder board is expected to make a decision on its solar energy project and to hear recommendations on 2015 open space preservation projects.

At 7 p.m., the county governing board will hold its 2015 Morris County Distinguished Military Service medals award program, honoring 10 Morris County veterans for their service to our county. A New Jersey “Unsung Hero Award’’ also will be presented.

All medal recipients are members of the Lance/Cpl. Robert J Slattery Detachment #206 of the Marine Corps League, based in Whippany. They are:

James J. Crupi, Marines, Roxbury

Horace G. “Al” Bischoff, Marines, Rockaway Township

The meetings and veterans’ ceremony will be held at the Morris County Administration & Records Building, 10 Court Street, Morristown, N.J. 07960. It will be held in the freeholders; public meeting room on the 5th floor.
