Learn to create autumn gardens of interest at Willowwood Arboretum’s Fall Open House on Sunday, Oct. 4 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. in Chester Township.
Discover gardening secrets, such as fall blooming bulbs and trees that flower in autumn when others are already losing their leaves.
Fabulous gardeners know that the key to a successful fall garden is understanding a plant’ s life cycle and incorporating those changes into your garden design.
Bark, twig, and ripened seed capsule can be winning design components. Coordinate these changes, and you will have a fabulous fall garden.

Light refreshments will be provided by the Willowwood Foundation. The cost of this program is $5 per car. Please bring exact change. Reservations are not required for this program. Should the weather be questionable, please call 973-326-7601 after 9 a.m. on Oct. 4 for cancellation information.
The Morris County Park Commission, is one of the region’s best park systems in New Jersey, and currently protects and maintains 18,600 acres at 38 distinct sites and a year-round calendar of events and activities.
One of the many sites is Willowwood Arboretum, with 130 acres of rolling farmland and about 3,500 kinds of native and exotic plants, many of them rare. The residence on the grounds, dating to 1792, features two small formal gardens.
