The Perfect Fall Event This Weekend in Morris County's Parks -- Apple Cidering At The Great Swamp

As apples ripen on the trees and fall colors brighten the landscape, there’s no better way to spend a few hours on a fall weekend – for adults or children -- than taking in one of the terrific Apple Cidering Demonstrations being held this weekend at the Morris County Park Commission’s Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center in Chatham Township.

Apple cidering demonstration

It’s a hands-on experience, as you help prepare and grind the apples by turning an old-fashioned cider press and collect the cider, and get a taste of a delicious sample of fresh, homemade sweet cider.

Discover some surprising facts about those apples you take for granted -- that the apple may not have been so American, and many more interesting facts.

Mark your calendar for the Apple Cidering Demonstrations on November 7, 8, 28 & 29 at 1 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. These hour-long demonstrations cost $3 per person, and are designed to engage, involve, and educate all ages.

Arrive early, admission is based upon first-come, first-served, and demonstrations fill up quickly. For more information, call 973.635.6629.

The Outdoor Education Center is at 247 Southern Blvd., Chatham Township.

Morris County’s Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center is located adjacent to the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. The 40-acre center has been serving the public since the 1960s.For more information, visit: http://www.morrisparks.net/aspparks/gswampmain.asp
