Police Seek Information on Fatally Injured Jefferrson Man Found Lying on Route 15 on Saturday

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Jefferson Police Chief William Craig are asking the public to provide any information they might have regarding a fatal incident that occurred in Jefferson this weekend.

 
On Saturday, Sept. 19, at about 4 a.m., a passerby reported observing a person lying in the road on Route 15 North, near Edison Road in Jefferson. Police responded and found an injured male who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

The victim was transported to St. Clare's Hospital in Dover. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

A joint investigation between Jefferson Police and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office  developed information that identified the victim as Michael Adams, 24, of  Jefferson.

Jefferson Police and the Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying anyone that may have knowledge of this incident and/or the circumstances leading to the victim's injuries.
