Freeholders Honor Gold Award Recipients

The Morris County Board Freeholders recently honored two Girl Scouts for attaining the Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can earn.

Brooke Boetticher
The freeholders hosted Girl Scouts Brooke Boetticher of Jefferson and Sarah Anthony of Netcong at recent public meetings and presented each girl with congratulatory certificates.

Boetticher’s service project involved recording audio books for children with reading difficulties and donating the audio books to two elementary school libraries.

Sarah Anthony
Anthony performed maintenance on a trail in Netcong to provide a safer experience to students who use the trail to walk to school. She then created three geocaches, which are hidden on the trail, to encourage geocachers and others in the surrounding communities to experience hiking the trail.
